For the first time in the history of wars, common people were in a situation to document events around them with a home video camera. The home video cameras - instead of filming children’s birthday parties - recorded the shelling of their hometown - Sarajevo. This footage - recorded by ordinary citizens from their apartments, shelters, neighbourhoods, in various parts of the city - was used to create a film about everyday life in a besieged city, in Europe, at the end of the 20th century.

One of the most beautiful human characteristics is the will to communicate and understand different... We had the honour to meet nice people living in the oldest Republic in the world and to present them our film “Do you remember Sarajevo?", a story about ordinary people who lived under a barbaric siege at the end of the 20th century
Finally, we received the most beautiful award for that film “ the understanding and friendship of the San Marino people”.
It will be hard to forget Michele's progressive political and human speeches and mad driving, Paolo’s attitude as key man of San Marino, Rita’s energy, Jemma’s sense of humanity, the beautiful atmosphere of Valentina’s home, the speleological adventure spirit and all the smiles you gave us as a most wonderful souvenir of San Marino. Thanks also to your Presidents for giving us their time. They really were pleased to see us in the beautiful Government Building of your splendid Republic.
Thanks for your idea of talking about Sarajevo and Bosnia; its something to show us that people who really carried about future talking about past. And first of all it is very important that you (people of the oldest Republic in the world) think about it. You really deserve to be those who talk about wars because you don't have any experience of them. This means God blessed your land and, on the other hand, it also means you somehow know a lot about it.
A small Republic with a big heart... With hope to see you all again.
